Poppie’s Cattery, Whitesmith. Poppie’s Cattery is a family-run luxury retreat for cats, nestled in a peaceful rural setting on the edge of Golden Cross—conveniently located between Hailsham and Uckfield in East Sussex.

We offer a calm, caring, and comfortable environment where your cat can relax and feel at home while you’re away—whether you’re at work, in hospital, on holiday, or simply unable to care for them for a time. Every detail at Poppie’s Cattery has been thoughtfully designed with your cat’s wellbeing and happiness in mind. Run by Melanie, this is a true labour of love, where the needs of your cat always come first.

We welcome individual cats, pairs, or feline families, with larger lodges available to accommodate multi-cat households. Our indoor cattery features multi-level internal spaces, allowing your cat to explore, perch, and settle wherever they feel most secure. Each lodge is equipped with a heater to ensure warmth and comfort during colder months.

A range of quality beds, blankets, and hideaways are provided in every lodge, offering your cat plenty of choice to suit their sleeping and relaxation preferences. Every guest also enjoys their own exercise area, complete with a climbing ramp, scratching post, scratch pad, and a selection of toys for enrichment. (Treats can also be offered with the owner’s permission.)

For your peace of mind, our cattery is secured with a double-door entry system to ensure the safety of all our guests. An up-to-date vaccination certificate is required at the time of each stay, and we kindly ask that your cat is fully wormed and flea-treated before arrival.

To help you stay connected, each lodge is fitted with a camera—allowing you to check in and watch your feline family member anytime during their stay.
